Enjoy a day of discovery of two wonderful locations of the Ionian coast: Messina and Taormina. Starting from Messina, drive for about 1 h and reach Taormina and walk from Porta Catania – the Southern entrance to the town – towards Corso Umberto, which is its main street. Here take the opportunity to discover the monuments, the wonderful squares with their views above Mt Etna and the coast and taste an authentic Sicilian cannoli or a delicious arancino. After two hours and 30 minutes in this unique location, drive back towards Messina and admire the historical heritage of Sicily’s third-largest city, visiting the monuments and the churches, but also the viewpoint overlooking the city center and Capo Peloro – the nearest point of the island to the mainland and also the best point of observation of the Strait of Messina. At the end of the tour, return to the departure point.

En remontant le versant sud de l'Etna, nous traverserons les coulées de lave de 1983 et 2002 et observerons de près leurs effets destructeurs. Nous atteindrons 2 000 mètres d'altitude, où vous pourrez visiter les cratères Silvestri, créés lors de l'éruption de 1892. Vous marcherez au bord des cratères et admirerez un paysage à couper le souffle. Sur le chemin du retour, nous nous arrêterons dans une miellerie où vous découvrirez les procédés de production du miel biologique et dégusterez différentes variétés de miel et de nombreux autres produits typiques comme l'huile d'olive vierge extra, le vin, le pesto sicilien, etc. À Taormine, vous vous promènerez dans la ville en admirant la beauté du centre historique et ses principales attractions (Théâtre grec, Cathédrale, Place du Belvédère). Ensuite, nous visiterons le village médiéval caractéristique de Castelmola, avec sa cathédrale et sa place principale offrant une vue magnifique sur l'Etna. Un arrêt incontournable est le café Turrisi, où vous pourrez déguster un vin d'amande spécial.
