The tomb of Canbulat, commander in the Ottoman siege of Famagusta in the 16th century and an essential cause for the city's victorious capture, is housed at the Canbulat Museum in Famagusta. The origins of Famagusta Castle are Lusignan. The castle is not massive, but it does have an outstanding Great Hall with a vaulted ceiling and an appealing central courtyard. The panoramic views of the city alone are worth the visit.
