The Day Tour to the Asis wild animal rescue center outside of La Fortuna, is a great way to learn about wildlife protection and see Costa Rican animals up close.The tour begins with an explanation of the importance of the center’s goal of preserving wildlife populations in the face of illegal hunting and natural habitat destruction. Asis works with non-profit organizations, goverment entities and environmental agencies to save animals, return them to the forest when possible, and educate visitors about multiple species in danger of extinction and other topics related to their welfare. The Asis tour with volunteering provides the opportunity for visitors to not only see the facilities and wild animals but to assist in the rehabilitation process.
