A local's Madrid: A self-guided audio tour
If you like food and history, join me on this self-guided audio tour. If you would like to learn about the history of Madrid and fill your tummy up with tapas and drinks along the way, you’ve come to the right place. We walk around the historic district of Madrid, starting in the 1700s and working our way to the oldest quarter of Madrid with plenty of fun historical and personal anecdotes along the way. En route, I will point out three traditional tapas restaurants that my family has been frequenting forever, for some great food, such as croquettes, Spanish ham, chorizo, Manchego cheese, Spanish omelette, gazpacho, paella, accompanied by wine, beer, traditional Sangria and Castilian after dinner shots. Highlights include •The second oldest nightclub in Madrid, once frequented by Julio Iglesias. •The origins of the Spanish Tooth Fairy mouse •The Madrid new years eve custom •The oldest standing restaurant in the world •A walk through Da Vinci Code territory •The best paella in Madrid
