L'excursion commence tôt le matin à votre hôtel. Nous partons de la côte sud pour visiter Vila Franca do Campo et son centre historique. Nous montons jusqu'à la chapelle de Nossa Senhora da Paz (construite en 1764) d'où vous pourrez admirer une vue panoramique sur le village. Vous y trouverez les célèbres Queijadas. Nous continuons vers le sud en direction du magnifique village de Furnas, où vous pourrez vous baigner dans ses eaux thermales luxuriantes. Nous continuons vers Lagoa das Furnas, où nous visiterons Lagoa, un lieu entouré de fumerolles et de chaudières. C'est là que nous découvrirons le célèbre Cozido, un lieu magique qui se trouve dans des trous d'environ un mètre. Après le déjeuner, nous visiterons les chaudières et dégusterons des eaux minérales. Le retour se fait par le Nord, en visitant le pic du fer d'où l'on peut voir une vue sur la lagune et les fours à une altitude de 600m, puis nous nous arrêtons à Fabrica do Chá, en dégustant le magnifique thé de São Miguel.
