Among the largest European museums in terms of exhibition space, it is unique in its kind, because it contains the results of research in the territory from the end of the 18th century onwards.
On the ground floor, the Medallion with its Numismatics Collections.
On the first floor there is the exhibition path relating to the prehistory and protohistory of Eastern Sicily (sector A), the one dedicated to the Greek colonies of eastern Sicily (sector B1), the sector dedicated in particular to Greek Syracuse, (sector B), the one in which are exhibited the finds from the sub-colonies of Syracuse, from the Hellenized Indigenous centers, from the Greek colonies of Gela and Agrigento (sector C).
