Clootie Well
Discover the ancient healing traditions of the Celtic world with a visit to the Clootie Well at Munlochy on our guided tour.
Clootie wells, found in Celtic regions like Cornwall and Ireland, hold mystical significance and are believed to possess healing powers.
Experience the ritual firsthand as you dip a rag or cloot in the sacred waters of the well, tying it to a tree in hopes of alleviating sickness or ailments as the cloth disintegrates. Feel the connection to ancient traditions and immerse yourself in the spiritual energy of this sacred site.
If you feel the need to bring your own cloot, we welcome your participation in this age-old practice. For those leaving offerings, please ensure they are small, appropriate, and biodegradable, with pure wool or cotton being the most environmentally friendly choices.
Don’t worry if you forget your cloot as we will provide some for the experience.
