The beach is framed by towering basalt cliffs, which create a dramatic and otherworldly landscape. The waves crashing against the shore create a mesmerizing sound and add to the natural beauty of the area.
One of the most impressive features of Reynisfjara is the Reynisdrangar sea stacks, which rise up out of the sea just off the shore. Legend has it that these stacks were once trolls who were turned to stone by the rising sun. The stacks provide a stunning backdrop for the beach and are a popular subject for photographers.
