Trinidad covers forty square kilometer's of tidal lagoons, marshland and mangrove forest bordering the Gulf of Praia between the mouths of the Caroni and Madame Espagnole rivers. It is home to 157 bird species i listed a few so you guys can have a good idea, as well as caimans, snakes, opossums, racoons and countless fish and insects. The area was designated a protected wildlife area in 1953, but poaching and industrial waste pollution are still problems here. Nevertheless, the swamp is a beguiling and peaceful place and well worth a visit.
Some of the Birds you would be seeing are the Scarlet ibis, flamingos, Sandpiper, Eurasian whimbrel, Tricoloured munia, Northern waterthrush, Black-crested antshrike, Speckled tanager, Dusky-capped flycatcher, Cocoa thrush, Roseate tern, short-billed dowitcher, Bananaquit,Great Egret a lot of other animals not listed. please NOTE we are not guaranteed to see all the animals.
