Itinerary
1
Conchas Chinas
We will view many old houses amongst the jungle canopy as we travel the highway through this very upscale neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta. On the right side view the beautiful coastline and grand beach houses and resorts.
2
Mismaloya
The dramatic coastline will give way to this once sleepy fishing village now a meca for tourists with several large hotels surrounding the bay inlet.
3
Boca de Tomatlan
The dramatic coastline presents a cove at the mouth of the river where a once small fishing village hugs the cliffs and shore. Today nearly all the boats shuttle tourists to secluded beaches and passing pods of whales.
4
Jardin Botanico de Vallarta
View the "Hacienda del Oro" which houses the restaurant and gift shop as it sits upon a hill overlooking the river valley and it's hillside gardens. We'll be traversing this two lane twisting mountain highway which will offer fleeting views to the distance through the sometimes dense jungle canopy.
5
El Tuito
El Tuito is a small agricultural town of about 3,500 people. Although its origins are thousands of years old, the "modern" settlement started in the late 1600's to help supply the near by gold and silver mines. We will take several hours to walk through many parts of the small rural town. Our visit may include the cemetery, central plaza, arts centers, tortilla factory, and many shops, Lunch will be an hour break in the main plaza at a traditional restaurant housed in building from the 1800s will all the charm of old Mexico. We will also walk out of the town to view the rolling hills and fields with cattle peppered throughout.
