We will hike through a mountain meadow, over and by a stream, and make our way up into a mixed pine and fir forest, identifying interesting plants, fungi and wildlife as we stroll. I will highlight edible, medicinal, poisonous and interesting plants and fungi and the surrounding lore!

We will meet at the main trail intersection near the ranger cabin at Chautauqua park. I will be wearing a green hat with a cactus on it and have a black backpack. There are restrooms and water fountains here if you need them before we begin hiking. We will quickly go over a few things as a group.

Do you want to learn about the plants, animals and fungi of the Rocky Mountains while going on a scenic hike? This is your chance to get outside with an avid guide and forager with over a decade of experience teaching and guiding in the outdoors.
We will start with introductions at the trailhead, then proceed to hike and identify plants, animals, fungi and more as we go!
With an emphasis on edible, medicinal and poisonous plants, you will have my expertise as well as a library of regional guides to help you get to know the cast of characters that make up our local flora and fungi.
