Upon arrival in Lumbini, visitors often start their exploration at the Maya Devi Temple, which marks the exact spot where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama, who later became Gautama Buddha. Inside the temple, there is a sacred marker stone and a pond where Queen Maya Devi is believed to have taken a bath before giving birth.
