Itinerary
1
Marathon
At Marathon, you walk across the wide coastal plain where, in 490 BC, Athenian hoplites defeated a vastly superior Persian force. Accompanied by the expert military advisors, the story of the war unfolds as the battle is reconstructed in detail, hour by hour: terrain, deployments, formations, command decisions and the decisive moments that turned the tide. Standing on the ground itself, the setting remains as powerful today as it was 2,500 years ago in a way no book or documentary can replicate. You visit the Marathon museum, the Trophy and the Athenian Tomb where the 192 fallen Athenians lay.

Battlefield of Thermopylae
As we arrive at the battle site of Thermopylae, be prepared to feel the power of history at the world’s most legendary last stand. You will walk on the same ground where Leonidas and his 300 Spartans stood in August 480BC, as the expert military advisors bring to life the nail-biting, three-day titanic battle against the Persian empire. On location we visit Leonidas' monument, the ancient wall and the thermal springs were the Spartan soldiers bathed before the battle, still running hot today.
