Portree
About
On this tour you will experience the island life on the biggest island in the inner Hebrides.
Leaving Portree, we will travel north to our first stop, The Storr. Up next, is The Kilt Rock. This is a famous sea cliff in north east Trotternish. It is said to resemble a kilt, with vertical ballast columns to form the pleats and intruded sills of dolerite forming the pattern. ( short photo stop )
From here, a short drive will take us to The Quiraing, another amazing rock formation that hold secrets of the past when the locals used to hide from the marauding vikings.
Heading south-west we will visit the Museum of Island Life and it's black houses showcasing life on the island hundreds of year...
