Jvari Church
⛪ Jvari Monastery – Where Georgia’s Christianity Began
Perched on a hill overlooking the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, Jvari Monastery (6th century) is one of Georgia’s most iconic landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travelers can walk around the stone church, admire its ancient carvings, and enjoy one of the most breathtaking panoramas in the country — the entire town of Mtskheta lies below, framed by two rivers and mountain ridges.
Your guide will share the story of how Saint Nino placed the first wooden cross here, marking the birth of Christianity in Georgia. It’s not just a scenic viewpoint — it’s the spiritual beginning of the nation.

Tskhrajvari Mountain
✝️ Tskrajvari – The Sacred Cross Mountain
Rising above the town of Ambrolauri, Tskrajvari, meaning “Cross Mountain,” is one of the most spiritually and visually striking spots in the Racha region. A short but rewarding hike leads to the top, where several large crosses overlook the surrounding mountains and valleys.
From the summit, travelers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Greater Caucasus, peaceful silence, and a sense of timeless spirituality that locals have felt for centuries. It’s a perfect moment for reflection, photos, and connecting with Georgia’s deep Christian tradition while surrounded by untouched nature.

Ambrolauri
Ambrolauri – Wine, Heritage & a Taste of True Georgia
In the heart of the Racha region, Ambrolauri offers a warm and authentic experience far from the tourist crowds. Here, travelers visit a century-old family house and wine cellar, where the winemaking traditions have been preserved for generations.
You’ll sample local Racha wines, including the famous semi-sweet Khvanchkara, learn about the region’s unique microclimate, and enjoy a homemade Georgian dinner prepared with love — often called one of the best meals guests have during their entire trip.
The atmosphere is intimate, with genuine hospitality, laughter, and the aroma of freshly cooked food filling the air. For many travelers, the evening in Ambrolauri becomes an unforgettable highlight — and the perfect place to stay overnight among friends.
