Amboseli National Park
Depart from your residence early at 5. a.m. on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. Witness a luminous Kenya sunrise lighting up the countryside dotted with homesteads and brightly outfitted Maasai herdsmen with their cattle.
Within 3 – 4 hours, arrive and start the adventure with your first game drive. With Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background (weather permitting), you’ll see herds of protected elephants, many sporting immense ivory tusks.
Settle in at Amboseli Serena lodge for lunch, one of the nicest restaurants in the park at around 12.30 p.m. and enjoy a sumptuous lunch or you may carry your own picnic lunch to be enjoyed at the observation hill.
After lunch, enjoy a short route game drive as you exit the park. This will be a shorter tour, but you may spot elephants roaming from the marshes as they tend to later in the day. Having taken in the best of Amboseli, head back to the highway and to the capital city of Nairobi, arriving in the evening.
