This large complex, built in the early 18th century, includes a high, ornate frescoed initiation hall and another building with a huge reclining Buddha.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Chanthaburi is the symbol of the city and the largest Catholic building in Thailand. The centrepiece of the inside of the cathedral is the statue of the Virgin Mary.
