St. Peter’s Square, located in the heart of Vatican City, is one of the most famous and impressive squares in the world. Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini at the request of Pope Alexander VII, it was built between 1656 and 1667 to welcome the faithful attending religious ceremonies.
