The Terracotta Army is a collection of life - sized clay sculptures that were buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the 3rd century BC. These sculptures were created to protect the emperor in the afterlife. The craftsmanship is astonishing, with each warrior having unique facial features, hairstyles, and clothing, reflecting the diversity of the imperial army at that time.
