Xi'an Shuyuanmen is situated to the east of Yongning Gate, a pedestrian street linking the Forest of Stone Steles Museum and Guanzhong Academy with a total length of around 570 meters, named after Guanzhong Academy built in the Ming Dynasty. During the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, scholar Feng Congwu founded Guanzhong Academy here, which was the top institution of higher learning in Shaanxi during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Paved with bluestones, the street is lined with antique buildings featuring Ming and Qing architectural styles. Shops selling calligraphy, paintings, four treasures of the study and stone stele rubbings line both sides, while artists often create calligraphy works on the spot. The Huata Pagoda of Baoqing Temple at the western entrance is a Sui Dynasty relic that complements Guanzhong Academy. It stands as a cultural landmark of ancient Xi'an blending scholarly elegance and lively local folk atmosphere.

Muslim Quarter
Xi'an Muslim Quarter(also known as Muslim Street ) lies to the north of the Bell and Drum Towers in Lianhu District, consisting of North Courtyard Gate, West Sheep Market, Dapiyuan and other alleys. Its history dates back to the Tang Dynasty when Persian and Arab merchants settled here via the ancient Silk Road. It developed into a stable Hui community in the Yuan Dynasty and thrived with booming trade in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The block houses more than ten mosques including the Great Mosque of Huajue Lane, whose architecture combines Ming and Qing styles with Islamic elements. Renowned as a paradise for Northwestern halal delicacies, it offers a rich variety of food such as beef and mutton paomo, Jia San soup dumplings and steamed glutinous rice cake. Now a free-access must-visit tourist spot in Xi'an, it draws crowds day and night, featuring distinctive folk culture and diverse gourmet experiences.
