Salar de Uyuni
Departure 10:30 a.m.
We begin at the Train Cemetery, where old locomotives create a unique landscape ideal for photographs. We continue to the community of Colchani, where we will learn about the traditional salt production process and visit shops selling handicrafts made with salt, marble, and camelid fiber. We enter the Salar de Uyuni to observe the icicles, the Dakar Monument, and the Plaza de las Banderas (Plaza of the Flags). We visit the first salt hotel, now a museum and restaurant. We will enjoy taking photos with perspective and appreciate the hexagonal formations of the salt flat. Then we explore Incahuasi Island, home to giant cacti and panoramic views. We also visit the famous Stairway to Heaven for photos. We finish with a spectacular sunset accompanied by wine and snacks.
