Your adventure begins early in the morning with departure from your hotel in Coyhaique, heading south along the legendary Carretera Austral, one of the most scenic routes in Chilean Patagonia.

During the journey — approximately 2 to 3 hours — you’ll travel 233 kilometers through breathtaking Patagonian landscapes. Along the way, we’ll pass by stunning natural landmarks such as Lago Verde, La Piedra del Conde, Portezuelo Ibáñez, and the Cuesta del Diablo viewpoint, which offers magnificent views of Cerro Castillo. The route itself is part of the experience — a combination of winding roads, crystal-clear rivers, and snow-capped peaks that define the wild beauty of Patagonia. Upon reaching Puerto Río Tranquilo, we’ll stop at the lake’s shore for the next stage of the journey.

From Puerto Río Tranquilo, we’ll board a boat to explore the Marble Chapels Nature Sanctuary, a National Monument of Chile located on the shores of General Carrera Lake. This otherworldly place is formed by a series of calcium carbonate caves carved over thousands of years by wind and glacial waters. As sunlight reflects off the lake’s turquoise waters, the marble formations shimmer in shades of blue, white, and gray, creating a mesmerizing natural masterpiece. You’ll have time to take photos, admire the reflections, and experience the calm and purity of this iconic Patagonian wonder.

After the navigation, we’ll return to Puerto Río Tranquilo, where you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. It’s a perfect moment to relax, try regional dishes, and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of this small Patagonian town.

In the afternoon, we’ll begin the return journey along the Carretera Austral, retracing the scenic route back to Coyhaique. The trip takes around 2 to 3 hours, allowing you to reflect on the incredible landscapes and memories of the day. Arrival at your hotel marks the end of this unforgettable Patagonian experience.
