We will start our day in the historical center of Neive, a small medieval hilltop town. One of the towns of the Barbaresco wine area and one of Italy’s top 5 most beautiful hilltop villages. We will sit down in a caffè with a warm beverage of your choice and will go over the area with the local maps to give a better idea of the regions, the grapes, the winemaking process, and what we will be tasting throughout the day. From there we will take a beautiful drive through the the hilly roadways that are covered in vines that brings us to our first winery stop, where we will see the wine making process, talk about some family history, and a taste of some of the family’s most precious wines. After we will stop in a medieval village for lunch at a small local spot, before heading to our second winery visit. We will then after, head back to our meeting point where you will be free to enjoy an aperitivo or dinner after the tour. The start time is at 9.30 and the end time is at 17.00

Together, we will explore the Piedmontese culinary tradition through a Tuscan lens, blending the techniques and flavors of two renowned Italian regions. We will prepare traditional tajarin, ravioli del plin, and the typical pici senesi, following authentic regional recipes. You will learn to make two distinct doughs: one with eggs for the Piedmontese pasta and one without eggs for the pici. Each preparation will be enriched by learning specific techniques, such as the delicate “plin” for the ravioli and the handmade method for the pici. This is a wine tour to discover Monferrato: one of the most suggestive and less touristic areas of Piedmont, rich in history and great wines. The first stop will be a small natural winery in the area where I will introduce you to the oenologist and producer who will guide you, together with me, to discover his cellar, his wines and his production philosophy. After the first visit you will have lunch in a traditional restaurant selected by me where you can discover typical Piedmontese dishes enjoying the tranquility of the local atmosphere. After a relaxing lunch break we will leave for another traditional winery where, after listening to the story of the rediscovery of an ancient native variety, we will visit an ancient underground cellar and together with the producer we will taste their most classic wines. During the day we will have the opportunity to walk along scenic roads admiring fascinating corners of Monferrato and discovering small hidden treasures of Piedmont.

With this full-day tour, I'll take you on a discovery of some of the finest local cheeses and wines, which shepherds and small farmers keep alive with their hard work and passion in some of the most authentic and pristine areas of our region. We'll begin the day by visiting a small dairy in Alta Langa. Here, you'll have the opportunity to learn about their traditional cheesemaking process and hear details about their pasture-raising method, while walking and observing the animals around the farm. Around midday, it's the perfect time for a light and authentic lunch at the farm : we'll taste their delicious cheeses along with other local products such as honey, homemade jams, and sourdough bread. A delicious lunch with a breathtaking view of the valley. After saying goodbye to this beautiful place, we'll continue our journey to the winery.
