Head into Niagara Falls State Park after dark and walk out to Goat Island and Luna Island for views of all three falls from the middle of the river. Coloured floodlights sweep across the water and mist, giving each cascade a different face than it has by day. Note: Fireworks over the falls run on a seasonal schedule and are not guaranteed. The largest of the three falls, curving across the Canada-U.S. border, where roughly 90 percent of the Niagara River pours over the crest. After dark it takes the full weight of the coloured floodlights.

The narrowest of the three, separated from the American Falls by Luna Island, its thin sheet of water lit from below at night.

The second largest cascade and the only one lying entirely within New York State, viewed from the Goat Island and Luna Island overlooks.
