Our primary itinerary takes us towards Sommarøy, passing through Ersfjordbotn and Nordfjordbotn. However, in the event of poor conditions, we may adjust the route.

During this roundt trip of Kvaløya island, we take care of the full package: pictures of you and the landscape, local pastries, hot beverages, a knowledgeable guide and a driver that will show you the most beautiful spots in the area. We will stop at Ersfjordbotn and Sommarøy to show you as much as possible during the tour. These breaks are also an excellent opportunity for spotting wildlife, like reindeer and sea eagles. Please note that animal sighting is never guaranteed. To keep you warm and comfortable while outside, we provide thermal suits and boots. With our underwater drone we will explore the hidden world underneath the surface of the ocean.* Our on board cafe has a selection of local food and drinks available for purchase. *Stop at the fishing facility and underwater drone activities are weather dependent.

Wondering Reindeer is Sami reindeer experience company ho is offering guests authentic Sami adventures. We offer guests a small group tour (22 pers) around Kvaløya island with majestic mountains and arctic fjords. During the trip around the island, guests will join Sami reindeer herder and his reindeers when he feed the magnificent animals. When the herd is gathered, there will be an opportunity to feed the animals by hand. Guests will also be gathering in traditional Sami lavvo (Sami tent) around open bonfire to enjoy Joik (traditional Sami songs) and learn more about Sami traditions. During the roundtrip we will visit Sommarøy Arctic Hotel for lunch/meal made of local ingredients. Sommrøy is a fantastic place and a group of islands in the open sea 1,5 hours driving from Tromsø. Guests will have time to explore Sommrøy by walking around before we leave the fishing community.

Come with us for your small-group Aurora hunt for an ethical experience chasing the Aurora Borealis. Leave the light pollution in Tromsø behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. Our guides use forecasts and local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights. When we find the best spot, we will dress in warm thermal suits, make a cosy campfire, and enjoy a warm meal. During the tour, your guide will take photos of you, which will be available for free in web-sized resolution after the tour. Relax by the fire with hot tea before returning to your hotel in Tromsø. Though there is never a guarantee of seeing this phenomenon, our Aurora Hunters will do their best every night of the season.
