Cascade Complex
White travertine stone was used for building the complex since only this stone was available in the amount sufficient for such a large-scale construction.
The building itself houses the Cafesjian Center for the Arts with exhibition halls where permanent and temporary exhibitions are held. The exhibitions are regularly updated to showcase the best specimens of contemporary art and sculpture.

Opera Theatre Apartement
The ground-breaking of the Opera Theatre took place on 28 November 1930 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Soviet Armenia. On 20 January 1933, the building was officially opened. Soon after the theatre foundation, a ballet troupe was established. Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was the first ballet performance in 1935.
