Impression Sanjie Liu
pression Liu Sanjie is a groundbreaking large-scale landscape performance located in Yangshuo, Guilin. Directed by renowned filmmaker Zhang Yimou and his team, it is China's first open-air show to use a natural landscape as its stage.
Instead of a traditional theater, the performance takes place on a 2-kilometer stretch of the Li River, with twelve natural karst peaks serving as the backdrop. The show tells the legendary story of Liu Sanjie, a folk song fairy, through a blend of traditional ethnic music, modern lighting, and the daily lives of local fishermen.
