Petra is originally Togolese and is currently working in the IT sector in Budapest. Her love for food and cooking began early, when she assisted her mother in the kitchen as a child. She is very excited to share her passion, food and recipes with travelers from around the world. An experience with Petra is all about sharing a traditional Togolese meal, learning about the culture, dancing to African music and even getting your hair braided! Itinerary
This is a unique opportunity to explore a new food culture and cuisine. Togolese cuisine is rich, flavorful and spicy with a variety of sauces, different pâtés and assortment of vegetables. Petra will teach you to cook two traditional West African dishes in your 1 hour cooking class. This is a hands-on class where you will help Petra to prepare attieke (cassava semolina) served with fish or egusi soup (soup thickened with ground melon seeds, also contains meat, fish and vegetables) which is served with eba and tchep (meat, rice and vegetables simmered in tomato sauce). After your cooking class join Petra to share the dishes you helped prepare.
