For the visit to the memorial site, we will travel together by public transport from Berlin to Oranienburg (approx. 50 minutes). From there, we will walk about 20 minutes to the memorial site. We will use the same route for the return journey. A day ticket costing €13.20 per person is required but is not included in the tour price.
Possible stops at the site:
- Tower A: Entrance tower, exhibition on victims and perpetrators of excessive violence
- Roll Call Square: Site of the daily terror of camp life
- Barrack 38: Part of the "small camp," where over 6,000 Jewish prisoners were crammed together after the "Kristallnacht"
- Camp Prison: Cell block with a memorial exhibition on exemplary victims and crimes
- Shoe Testing Track: Site where prisoners were exploited for material testing by German companies
- Station Z: Crematorium ovens, gas chamber, and execution site
- Infirmary Barracks: Exhibition "Medicine and Crime" on medical experiments and mistreatment
