Van Gogh & Rembrandt In Amsterdam
The exposition Van Gogh & Rembrandt in Amsterdam tells the story of how the two painters are connected, how Van Gogh became fascinated by Rembrandt and even inspired by him. Inside the monumental Noorderkerk you can sit, lay down or walk around while you take in their story. It is told through Van Gogh’s letters to his brother and artwork of both artists.
A story told through light and sound
Van Gogh & Rembrandt in Amsterdam is the first son-et-lumière (sound and light) show to be shown on such a scale inside a national monument. The show uses the entire interior of the Noorderkerk, from the walls to the brim, as its setting creating a 360° moving canvas. Inside the church, you’ll find yourself surrounded by sunflowers, angels and blossoms as you experience the admiration Vincent van Gogh had for Rembrandt van Rijn.
Please be in time for your reserved timeslots, if the show has started no entries are allowed. The show takes 40 minutes.
Please note: this is not the Van Gogh Museum.
