he co-cathedral was built by the order of Saint John between 1573 and 1578 and it is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist.
It was designed by Girolamo Cassar and its interior was redecorated in the 17th century in a Baroque style by Mattia Preti.

Upper Barrakka Gardens
These public gardens are twinned with the lower Barrakka gardens and offer a beautiful view over the Grand Harbour and they are located are located on the upper tier of Saints Peter and Paul Bastion, built in the 1560s.
