The Pyramid of Khafre (also known as the Pyramid of Khefren) is the second-largest pyramid on the Giza Plateau and was built for Pharaoh Khafre during the Fourth Dynasty around 2570 BC. Although it is slightly smaller than the Great Pyramid of Khufu, its higher position on the plateau makes it appear taller from a distance.

The Step Pyramid of Djoser is the world's oldest large-scale stone monument and is considered the first pyramid ever built. Located in the ancient necropolis of Saqqara, about 30 km (19 miles) south of Cairo, it was constructed during the 27th century BC for Pharaoh Djoser of the Third Dynasty.

Still at Giza, you'll admire the Sphinx, the vast half-lion, half-human statue still standing after almost 3,500 years, before hopping into the car for another short drive to Saqqara. This expansive necropolis was the cemetery for the city of Memphis for thousands of years. The Great Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Pyramid of Cheops, is the largest and oldest of the three pyramids on the Giza Plateau. Built around 2580–2560 BC during the Fourth Dynasty for Pharaoh Khufu, it is the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

he Pyramid of Menkaure (also known as the Pyramid of Mykerinos) is the smallest of the three main pyramids on the Giza Plateau. Built around 2510 BC for Pharaoh Menkaure, the grandson of Khufu, it stands approximately 65 meters (213 feet) tall. Despite its smaller size, the Pyramid of Menkaure is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship. The lower portion was originally covered with polished red granite from Aswan, while the upper section was faced with fine white limestone, creating a striking contrast.
