Batuan Temple is one of the important buildings in this area with intricate stone carvings. This temple is located in the northern part of Batuan village, 200 meters from the main road. This temple also has an inscription indicating the date of Batuan's founding in 1022 AD. This temple is a five-story gate tower, which is clearly influenced by Indian religious architecture. However, its icons and decorations are in a typical Balinese style. The roof of the temple is made of black colored palm fiber. The maintenance of the temple is carried out by the villagers.
