From Taormina or Siracusa we take the motorway to exit at Giarre. We will cross several unknown local villages where you can admire the architectural beauty of the small churches, the central squares and above all discover how the real Sicilian people live in the hinterland of the island. Subsequently we will travel on a local road that allows us to reach an altitude of 1920 meters and reach Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza and admire the various eruptions of the past centuries which have also destroyed entire villages but which have put on a spectacle with lava flows and clouds of volcanic ash . Return to Syracuse or Taormina.
After 1 and a half hours of travel, on request we can make the first stop in Nicolosi to visit the Mother Church and taste a local pastery with coffee.

Craters Silvestri of Mount Etna
After Nicolosi we will take the panoramic road of Etna and after about 30 minutes of travel to explore all that nature surrounds us we will arrive at an altitude of 2000 meters and make a stop at the Silvestri Craters, the main point of attraction.
