Tomar was one of the most influential cities in the Iberian Peninsula during the 13th Century. It is famous by its Convento of Christ, primarily the stronghold of Knight Templars and later transferred to the order of Christ. In the Convento of Christ visitors can see different architecture style from Gothic, Manueline and Renaissance with particular attention to the Church (Ambulatory) with historical structures referring to Jerusalem.
