Itinerary
1
Ryogoku
Experience Japan’s national sport with a two-hour Family Sumo Workshop in Ryogoku—the heart of sumo. Held in a sumo-themed restaurant with a real clay ring, this hands-on event lets adults and kids train, play, and learn together.
A bilingual MC introduces sumo’s rituals, followed by two former wrestlers demonstrating shiko (leg stomps), teppen (push drills), and suriashi (sliding footwork). Join them in the ring or watch and take photos. Parents can join or observe.
Next, enjoy a live match between pros. In the final challenge, a volunteer puts on a padded suit and tries to push a 160kg wrestler—fun guaranteed!
Refuel with a mini chanko hotpot, a protein-rich stew loved by wrestlers. Vegan, vegetarian, and allergy-friendly options available with 24 hours’ notice. Soft drinks included.
Wrap up with photo time—no extra charge. All ages welcome. No experience needed—just come and have fun!
