Beijing’s Old Summer Palace is known in Chinese as Yuanming Yuan, or ‘the Gardens of Perfect Brightness’. It used to be the most splendid royal garden, reputed as being the "Garden of Gardens". The Size of the palace is about 8½ times the size of the Forbidden City. However, a fire destroyed the grand garden, taking away its glory and only leaving behind the ruins and history.
