Kurobe Dam
At Kurobe Dam — the tallest dam in Japan — you can walk across the massive curved structure and feel the power of the surrounding mountains. Take in sweeping views of the emerald lake below, watch the seasonal water discharge (June–October), and capture unforgettable photos. There's also a small museum, scenic viewpoints, and local snacks available at the dam site.

Tateyama Murodo
Murodo, at 2,450 meters above sea level, is the highest point along the Alpine Route. Depending on the season, you can walk through the famous Snow Corridor with walls up to 20 meters (April–June), hike scenic mountain trails, or relax at the mountain lodge or café. The area also features the Tateyama Alpine Museum and stunning panoramic views of Japan’s Northern Alps.
