Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park
Before we head deeper into the national park, we’ll stop at West Head Lookout, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
From here, you’ll take in sweeping views over Pittwater, Barrenjoey Headland and the vast expanse of Broken Bay meeting the Pacific Ocean. It’s the perfect first pause to arrive, take a breath, and soak in the scale and beauty of the landscape before we continue the journey.

Aboriginal Heritage walk
We’ll follow the Aboriginal Heritage Walk, a beautiful bush track that winds through sandstone country and coastal forest. Along the way, you’ll visit two rock shelters with hand stencils and see ancient Aboriginal carvings etched into the stone, powerful reminders of the deep cultural history and connection to Country that has existed here for thousands of years.

Resolute Beach
Resolute Beach is a secluded stretch of golden sand tucked away in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, near Palm Beach and Pittwater. Surrounded by bushland and accessible only by foot or boat, it feels like a secret escape from the city. The calm, clear water is perfect for a refreshing swim after a hike, and the views across Pittwater to Barrenjoey Headland are stunning. With its mix of forest, rock platforms, and shoreline, Resolute Beach offers a peaceful place to rest, eat, or simply sit in silence — a spot that feels miles away from Sydney, yet only an hour’s drive from the city. this is where the afternoon becomes flexible.
• Jump into the water for a swim and stay as long as you like
• Continue walking and explore further
• Or, if the weather isn’t ideal for swimming or walking, head to Mooney Mooney for fresh oyster tasting by the water.
