Karakus Tumulusu
We will contact you and meet you at the designated location with your guide and driver. Located in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, on the road to Mount Nemrut, the Karakuş Tumulus is a monumental tomb built by King Mithridates II of Commagene for his mother Isias, his sisters, and his nephew between 30-20 BC. This approximately 20-meter-high mound is called "Karakuş" (Black Bird) because of the eagle statue on the column to its south, which is considered to be the messenger of Zeus.
