This experience combines a fast 5 minute mountain drive ascent, relaxing time in the mountains, and a scenic hike back to Zermatt.
We start in the village and take the funicular to Sunnegga, reaching the mountain in just 5 minutes. At the top, you’ll have around 40 minutes of free time to explore the lake, enjoy the views, and take photos away from the busy center of Zermatt.
Afterwards, we begin a beautiful and easy downhill hike on a local trail, offering stunning views and a peaceful alpine atmosphere.
Along the way, we pass two of Zermatt’s most popular summer restaurants and bars, giving you the option to stop, relax, and enjoy the culinary side of the mountains.

3. Free Time at the Lake (5 Lakes Trail) At Sunnegga, you’ll have around 40 minutes of free time at the lake, which is the first stop of the famous 5 Lakes Hike.
Here you can relax, take photos, and enjoy stunning views of the Matterhorn in a peaceful alpine setting.
The duration and pace can be slightly adjusted depending on how you feel on the day.
