Gamla Stan is Stockholm's old town, located on Stadsholmen island. This is the oldest part of the city, dating to 13th century, so Gamla Stan is a labyrinth of the charming narrow streets with old houses, numerous restaurants and souvenir shops.

Located in the 18th century building on one of most elegant squares of the Gamla Stan Alfred Nobel's museum is one of the latest additions to Stockholm sightseeing program. The museum was opened in 2001 to spread knowledge as well as to create interest and discussion around the natural sciences and culture through creative learning and exhibition techniques, modern technology and elegant design.

Stockholm City Hall
Stockholm city hall can be seen from the embankments and bridges of the Gamla Stan. The elegant brick structure appeared in the beginning of the 20th century on the spit of the Kungsholmen island. The city hall is a venue for the Nobel Prize banquet and the symbol of Stockholm.
