Fife
The East Neuk of Fife is one of the most picturesque areas of Scotland.
The East Neuk, meaning East Corner, is blessed by mother nature. Miles of beautiful coastline hug the Firth of Forth. The Islands jutting out upon the horizon provide a safe haven for nesting seabirds like the Puffin and Gannet. The waters shaping the coast of the East Neuk also helped to form the culture and identity of the people. For millennia the sea and land provided for the people to whom this was home. The names of caves, coves and places offer the provenance of those ancient ancestors. In the centuries offering opportunities through trade many of the small fishing villages rose to prominence. Today the street layouts, buildings and wynds that run down to the harbours provide a stunning backdrop. Giving visitors with imagination and opportunity to travel back through the centuries.

For more adventurous guests, the Elie Chain Walk offers an exhilarating scramble around the volcanic rocks of Kincraig Point. Eight chains help participants negotiate narrow, steep and exposed sections above the rocky shoreline.
Allow approximately two hours. This is a challenging activity requiring sturdy footwear with good grip, good balance and a reasonable level of fitness. It should only be attempted when tides and weather conditions are suitable; the chains are submerged at high tide.
