Ancient Kiln Site
This area is the largest and oldest kiln site in the entire Si Satchanalai area, containing over 200 discovered kilns. It was the center of mass production for Sangkhalok ware.
Production here began as early as the 11th century (pre-dating the Sukhothai Kingdom) and lasted for centuries. It proves that the region was a technological leader in Southeast Asia long before the "Golden Age."
The Underground Museum (Kiln 61 & 42): These are the best-preserved examples. You can actually see the "layered" history where newer kilns were built directly on top of older ones.
The "Celadon" Secret: Explain how the potters used local wood ash and clay to create that famous "sea-foam green" glaze that was exported as far as the Middle East.
The Mystery of the Discards: You can still see "wasters"—stacks of ceramic plates that fused together in the heat and were thrown away 700 years ago.

Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Rajworawihan Temple
Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Chaliang
Also known as Wat Phra Prang, this is the spiritual heart of the older "Chaliang" city.
It predates the Sukhothai Kingdom (possibly 12th century). It began as a Khmer Mahayana site before being converted into a Theravada temple.
The Prang: A massive corn-cob shaped tower built of laterite, reflecting the Ayutthaya Prang style
The Walking Buddha: On the side of the viharn is a high-relief "Walking Buddha," considered one of the most graceful examples of the Sukhothai art style.
Sacred Gate: The entrance gate features a four-faced Bodhisatva head, a classic royal architectural signature.
