Reiseplan
1
Omoide Yokocho
As the world's busiest transport hub in Shinjuku pours suited salarymen into the twilight, Tokyo’s most iconic district transforms into a theatre of neon lights, anchored by a legendary food culture.
Our evening begins in the timber-frame alleyways of Omoide Yokocho ("Memory Lane"), directly beneath the low rumble of passing trains. Squeeze into a yakitori grill house to taste smoky chicken skewers caramelized in a tare glaze, and marbled pork neck seared with sea salt. Pair it with an overflowing glass of nihonshu sake—an age-old emblem of local hospitality.
1 Stunde
2
Kabukicho
Next, take a detour to Japan’s sub-tropical south at an Okinawan tavern. Feel the contrast of island cooking within the skyscraper metropolis, featuring slabs of pork belly braised for hours in black sugar and local spirits. Crunch into purple sweet potato croquettes, and graze on fresh umibudo sea grapes—emerald-green algae that pop like ocean caviar. Wash it down with a frosty glass of draft Orion beer. While we keep a few surprises under wraps, there are 15+ tastings in total, so come hungry!
1 Stunde
3
Shinjuku Golden Gai
Step into the quiet magic of Itoku Inari Shrine, framed by illuminated red torii gates that feels like a portal to ancient Tokyo. Weave through along the micro-bar maze of Golden Gai, and the lantern-lit glow of Kabukicho Red Norengai. Look up to see the colossal Godzilla Head snarling over the cyberpunk skyline.
Pause for a tray of street-food takoyaki, watching iron picks flip dashi batter into golden globes concealing tender octopus chunks. Slide into a narrow ramen house for a bowl of rich tonkotsu, with springy noodles swimming in a pork bone broth rolled for hours to extract every layer of collagen.

Shinjuku
Save room for seafood, and follow us to a neighbourhood sushi counter to taste cuts you won't find on a standard tourist platter. Here, we honour the refined knife skills of the master itamae. Sink your teeth into pale pink amberjack, torch-seared mackerel, and melt-in-your-mouth anago sea eel lacquered in a dark, sweet soy reduction.
Close out the feast with taiyaki—a fish-shaped waffle pressed in cast-iron until wafer-thin. It's packed with molten azuki red bean paste—a sweet emblem of good fortune, strictly seafood-free!
Shinjuku doesn't sleep, and neither does its appetite. Join us to uncover the utterly delicious side of Tokyo after dark, and experience the full spectrum of Japanese cuisine in one of the world's greatest food cities.
