San Blas Islands
If you choose our optional transportation, a friendly driver will pick you up from your Panama City lodging between 5:00–5:30 am and safely transport you to the Port of Carti (2.5–3 hour drive over curvy mountain roads). For guests driving on their own, please contact us for detailed directions—only 4x4 SUVs are allowed in Guna Yala; all other vehicles are turned away at the border.
At the port, logistics may seem disorganized, but the Kuna community has everything under control. Your lancha (boat) will be waiting to take you to your private overwater cabin on the island. During the 25–30 minute boat ride, the captain may stop at other islands to pick up or drop off guests, offering glimpses of authentic Guna life.
Guests can choose island hopping or a visit to a Kuna community. Check-in is at 3:00 pm. Spend the afternoon swimming, strolling the beaches, and exploring, finishing the day with a stunning Caribbean sunset.
