Begin at one of Salem's oldest burial grounds, established in 1655. Judge Jonathan Corwin and Sheriff George Corwin—two powerful figures connected to the trials—rest in the Corwin family tomb here. Across the street, see the circa-1660 Pickering House, one of Salem's oldest surviving homes.

Researchers eventually confirmed Proctor's Ledge as the actual location, and the memorial now honors all nineteen victims.

Walk to one of the most important locations in the entire Salem Witch Trials story. Reverend Samuel Parris lived here with his family when his young daughter Betty and niece Abigail Williams began experiencing mysterious fits. Their accusations helped ignite the crisis that became the Salem Witch Trials. The original parsonage disappeared long ago, but archaeologists uncovered its stone foundations in 1970, and visitors can walk to the remains today.

Finish the tour at the memorial honoring the twenty-five people who died as a result of the Salem Witch Trials—the nineteen who were hanged, Giles Corey, who was pressed to death, and five others who died in prison. The location provides a fitting conclusion to the journey: the tour begins in Salem, where the trials ended, and finishes in Danvers—the former Salem Village—where the accusations began.

Stand near the site of the original Salem Village Meeting House, where magistrates examined some of the first people accused of witchcraft. This area served as both the religious and civic center of Salem Village when the hysteria erupted.
