A large, man-made reservoir situated in the North West Province of South Africa, nestled between the Magaliesberg Mountains. The dam was originally constructed in the early 20th century and completed in 1923, primarily to supply irrigation water to surrounding farms. Today, it is also a major recreational and tourism hub.
