Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo
Pachacutec was the Inca builder who ordered the construction of the main buildings of the current archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. Today, it is a picturesque town, an obligatory route for tourists who visit Machu Picchu. Ollantaytambo is known as the 'Living Inca City', it is a typical example of the extraordinary urban planning of the Incas
Currently, its cobbled and winding streets are still found, the ruins scattered everywhere and its agricultural terraces are attractions that stand out on their own and the visitor can appreciate it in all its splendor. The sources fed with water from the subsoil and from the adjacent snow-capped mountains.
Ollantaytambo seems to be attached with its large terraces that measure approximately 700 meters high as this place is built on a slope. But it is also possible that they were used to grow corn.
