Waimangu Volcanic Valley
Next, we journey into the Jurassic landscape of Waimangu Volcanic Valley, the world’s youngest geothermal ecosystem. Here, you’ll witness the raw power of Mother Nature and the dramatic aftermath of the 1886 Mt. Tarawera eruption.
We begin with a 90-minute immersion in the valley, including a relaxed lunch at the scenic Waimangu Café. Following lunch, we venture to the valley floor for an exclusive cruise across Lake Rotomahana. From the water, you’ll experience a unique perspective of steaming volcanic cliffs, active geysers, and a breathtaking, close-up view of the mighty Mt. Tarawera.
